Before

Searching millions of records by title, author, journal, PMID, DOI or accession number had to stay fast. The business also wanted two prices: instant delivery, and a cheaper option delivered in 5 to 6 days.

What I built

I designed the MySQL schema and indexes around those identifiers so searches come back quickly. Each Stripe Checkout session is created for one document and one delivery speed, and the details are saved in Stripe and in the database. Instant orders open right after payment; delayed orders go into a fulfillment queue.
